Some simply precautions that may help your kidney function.

There are many different kinds of Kidney problems that can occur from, drugs, toxins, diabetes,

lupus, hypertension, liver disease, and hereditary.

Symptoms of kidney problems, especially blood in the urine or severe back pain, consult your health care provider promptly.

CONSIDERATIONS

High doses of painkillers Advil, Nuprin, and others can lead to kidney dysfuntion. Lead, and infection diseases, such as measles, tonsillitis, and

scarlet fever can lead to kidney damage if not treated properly. Chiba University in Japan found that spirulina reduced kidney poisoning caused

Medical Science reminds us every day that good nutrition and good health go hand in hand especially when it comes to the health benefits of

eating fresh, raw fruits and vegetables. Researchers continue to find elements in fruits and vegetables that strengthen our immune systems.

Unfortunately, most people don't eat nearly enough fruits and vegetables, especially not everyday. Those we do eat tend to be over processed,

overcooked, or too far removed from the field, and thus lack much of the nutrition provided by fresh, raw fruits and vegetables. Eat garlic,

potatoes, asparagus, parsley, watercress, celery, cucumbers, papaya, bananas, drink 6 to 8 glasses of good water, watch your intake of animal

protein a diet of animal protein puts stress on the kidneys. Other good protein sources include peas, beans, lentils, millet, soybeans, and whole

grains. Be careful of dairy products, use low-fat yogurt, buttermilk, and cottage cheese.

FACTS & TIPS

Milk provides more sugar (in the form of lactose) than protein, about three teaspoons per cup as opposed to two. The reason it doesn't taste

sugary is that lactose is not as sweet as, say table sugar. Milk is a high-protein food, with 1 cup supplying almost 20 percent of adults RDA for

protein. It also contributes substantial amounts of calcium, phosphorus, and pantothenic acid.

Marijuana chemical eases arthritis...Stiff joints

"CANNABIDIOL, a non-psychoactive chemical in marijuana, has been found to ease arthritis. Researchers from the Kennedy Institute of

Rheumatology in London and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem discovered that cannabidiol suppresses part of the immune response of mice

with collagen-induced arthritis. This greatly reduces the inflammation and joint damage normally caused by arthritis, they say in an upcoming

issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences."

FROM OUR READERS:

I am a 69 year old male. In the past I have had a much-enlarged prostate in my forties and fifties.

I began looking for an alternative way of reducing my prostate. A recognized doctor of alternative medicine recommended Saw Palmetto with

pligium and zinc, he explained it takes these three ingredients to work together to be successful. I decided to try it and now several years later

my doctor tells me my prostate is nice and smooth and the size of a 30-year-old man. I will have to take this the rest of my life but it is so much

better than being cut on.

One of our readers would like to express their opinion. Pertains to all the cellular towers being put up.

These towers are 'eating' our lives and destroying our world.  We have protested so what.  As Roy Beavers wrote on 27 Feb 2000 :

" Remember, it was [Al] Gore who put into the 1996 TELCOM ACT

the words that gave us the UNCONSTITUTIONAL provision that .... remove local control of tower siting decisions....."

Al Gore, the Environmental politician ? Yuck. Fraud!

HERBAL:

MINTS

There are more than 400 varieties of Mints.

Among the many unusual varieties are orange mint, apple mint, pineapple mint, chocolate mint, and candy mint each one really does taste like it's

name.

USES:

It's hard to imagine a more versatile, safer group of herbs than the mints. Home remedies, flavoring for home and commercial use, and wonderful

teas are just the beginning.

MEDICINAL:

Mint leaves. Rubbed on itchy skin. Are cool and have a slight numbing effect. Thus they are also rubbed on gums for toothache. All mints help

digestion, especially spearmint.

Peppermint contains an ingredient that works on the body as an antispasmodic ( reducing all kinds of spasms ), so peppermint tea is very

soothing for menstrual cramps, diarrhea, and tummy aches.

Peppermint, is used to treat sprains and bruises, also used in toothache pain. Peppermint leaves rubbed on the forehead are said to be effective

for a headache.

Pennyroyal was used in AD 1000 and still is used in the twentieth century, to prevent seasickness.

TRADITIONS.

Romans rubbed there banquet tables with mint leaves the oil was good for the wood, and the smell stimulated the appetite. For a time in ancient
