You look in the mirror and say it is time to lose weight. Deciding to lose weight to look and feel better is a great
Idea. Doing so is not only improving your looks it is extending your life. As a health practitioner will tell you
that being overweight is bad for your heart, blood pressure and other body systems. You have tried different
ways before but it seems your are right back were you were before. Using products that claim they'll help you
burn fat, build muscle, and regain the body of a 20-year old. Have often failed to live up to their promises,
because the sleek, muscular bodies of youth are, for the most part, the results of a youthful metabolism.
Lets start by studying the factors.
You're taking a drug for weight loss, and you want to try herbs. Before taking any of the herbs it is best to
consult your health practitioner. They can help you approach body composition from a more holistic
perspective, by examining diet, exercise level, overall build, and other factors before planning a weight-loss
program. This in turn can become your Life-Style That you will not be a yo-yo you will maintain the weight you
desire with a comfortable way of life. This will not happen overnight, it took a few years for you to gain the
weight you have now. Losing weight slowly changing your metabolic rate will help you to keep the weight off.
Once you get into the routine of living your new Life-Style you will feel better about yourself. This in turn will
give you the intent to continue the uphill challenge that it takes to keep going.
MA HUANG (Ephedra sinensis):
This plant contains ephedrine and pseudoephedrine. (pseudoephedrine). Ma huang sold as a stimulant and
weight loss product. Like caffeine beverages, ephedrine-containing products apparently can be consumed
safely in moderate amounts by healthy people. Ma huang is included in some diet formulae where it functions
as an appetite suppressant. Its mechanism of activity in this use is the same as the only FDA approved over the
counter appetite suppressant, phenylpropanolamine (ppa). PPA lacks the central nervous stimulation exhibited
by the Ephedra alkaloids but has the same contraindications and is subject to the same cautions. Ephedra
contains both pseudoephedrine and ephedrine, collectively referred to as Ephedra alkaloids. Most people have
heard of the abuse of amphetamines as diet pills prescribed by doctors in the 1960's and '70's. Like
amphetamines, Ephedra (ma huang), and the chemical compound ephedrine, can be dangerous if abused. While
the cautions for ephedra and caffeine are similar, ephedra has greater cardiovascular activity than caffeine.
Ephedra is often combined in diet or energy products with caffeine or a natural caffeine source such as kola
nut, guarana, or tea. The combination of these two different types of stimulants can be especially powerful.
Warnings required on caffeine-containing over the counter drugs: Too much caffeine may cause nervousness,
irritability, sleeplessness, and, occasionally, rapid heart beat. [Physicians' Desk Reference for Nonprescription

Without consultation in starting any weight loss program one should consider the Risk factors. You may obtain
the weight you desire in the short time you wish. What harm did you cause to your system? Depleting your
nutritional system To obtain a nice looking body will in fact not make a healthy body. Keep your minerals,
vitamins, and nutrition in balance in whatever diet you start.

Some Herbal remedies may be dangerous. The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) conference Dr.
Charles McLeskey gave results of a survey of 979 presurgical patients. Seventeen percent said they take one
or more herbal products. Ones that have been known to prevent blood clots from forming are. Ginkgo biloba,
garlic, and ginger. They have also been associated with prolonged bleeding. The ones below may prolong
anesthesia's sedative effect. St. Johnswort (an anti-depressant) and kavakava (a relaxant) The ASA suggests
that a patient keep doctors informed of all their medication and supplements.
Both of these herbs have shown to help with energy.
Taking either Panax Ginseng (100 to 300 mg.)
Or Siberian ginseng (100 to 300 mg.) twice a day.
PASTA SHELL with Dill Crab Filling
8 Jumbo pasta shells
1 Tsp. Olive oil
1 Tsp. Crushed Garlic
½ med. onion. Finely chopped
2 Cups of reduced-fat cottage cheese
1 can 6 0z. Crab meat, rinsed and drained
1 Tsp. Chopped fresh dill
1 Tsp. Grated lemon peel
¼ Tsp. Salt
1 ¼ Tsp. Freshly ground black pepper
1 Large Jar fat-free pasta sauce
1. Turn oven on to 350°F
2. Cook the shells in a pot of boiling water add a 1/8 teaspoon of oil to keep from sticking. Cook for 12 minutes or till tender. Drain in a colander
3. Heat the olive oil; add the garlic till it sizzles. Add the onion; stir till it is translucent about 2 or 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
4. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix.
Spoon the mixture into the shells.
5. Use a 11 X 7 or 8 X 8 baking dish Put ½ of the sauce in bottom of pan. Arrange stuffed shells in baking pan pour rest of sauce on the shells. Cover bake for 20 minutes.
Makes 4 Servings. 424 cal, 33g pro, 59 g carb, 5.9 g fat, 0.9 g sat fat, 43 mg chol, 3 g fiber, 1,203 mg. sodium
